POSITION TITLE: Laundry Worker

STATUS: Full Time (RF Status – 80 Hours/Pay Period)

DAY/SHIFT/HOURS: Variable days primary shift 9am-5:30pm,

Weekend & Holiday rotation basis

Job Profile Summary/Responsibilities:

• Assist with unloading and loading linen
• Stock shelves according to linen specifications
• Match count of items received to items delivered invoices
• Maintain count of linen inventory counts for daily, weekly & emergency needs
• Restock and deliver clean linen to all parts of the hospital
• Prepare stocked linen carts daily, and report linen needs
• Make deliveries to off-site user areas using hospital van
• Daily picks up and sorts soiled linen for laundering or pick up
• Maintain cleanliness of laundry storage area(s)
• Demonstrated knowledge of and follow established protocols during emergency/drills
• Attend 85% to 100% of departmental meetings and/or reviews departmental communications, minutes, etc. as requested by department director/manager
• Uses hospital supplies appropriately
• Perform all duties pertaining to laundry distribution
• Operate and maintain hospital and departmental equipment appropriately
• Completes assignments consistently in a timely, thorough and appropriate detailed manner
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License

Certifications:

• None required

• Excellent communication, organizational, and detail skills
• Ambitious, motivated, able to work independently and follow written and verbal directions

Work Experience:

• Previous experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, twisting, pushing, stretching, & walking 90% of the shift
• Must be able to push and/or pull carts on wheels weighing up to 900lbs.
• Lift up to 50Ibs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
