Job Description:

The Administrative Support Asst II is an essential part of the detention center's operational unit responsible for monitoring and controlling access to various areas within the facility. The control room serves as the nerve center of the detention center, overseeing surveillance cameras, audio systems, and access control mechanisms Administrative Support Asst II's work closely with detention center staff to maintain a safe and secure environment for both detainees and staff members They play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the facility's security infrastructure Under limited supervision this position ensures the safety of all Jail employees, visitors, and inmates by controlling, observing, and logging all internal and external Jail movement using remotely controlled doors, gates, cameras, visual monitors, intercom systems, two-way radios, and computer systems. This position relays and prioritizes calls that require Detention Officer action and maintains constant observation of inmates.

Control Room Operators work closely with detention center staff to maintain a safe and secure environment for both detainees and staff members. They play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the facility's security infrastructure. Examples of Duties Under limited supervision this position ensures the safety of all Jail employees, visitors, and inmates by controlling, observing, and logging all internal and external Jail movement using remotely controlled doors, gates, cameras, visual monitors, intercom systems, two-way radios, and computer systems. This position relays and prioritizes calls that require Detention Officer action and maintains constant observation of inmates. Must be willing to work twelve hour shifts.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required, North Carolina Driver's License, Birth Certificate, Authorization of Release of Personal Information to Cleveland County Sheriff's Office. Strong observational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations Familiarity with security procedures and protocols Proficiency in operating surveillance and access control systems Commitment to upholding human rights, fairness, and respect

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in security, surveillance, or related fields is a plus but not mandatory. On-the-job training will be provided.
