As the Training & Development Specialist you will be responsible for training employees preparing them for continued advancement. Maintaining and tracking training records on our LMS while conducting in person training sessions and developing guidelines and policies for all training materials..
Responsibilities
- Facilitate training events, encompassing all new hires from various hotels and positions.
- Conduct training utilizing a variety of methods, customizing learning programs, courses, and guides.
- Coordinate and conduct team members new hire orientation, reviewing all key life safety training and benefits package.
- Maintain and continue to develop LMS, ensuring compliance training is up to date.
- Provide training to support managers in navigating the LMS.
- Track and verify all hotel franchise training programs to include Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt are completed.
- Works with the recruiting and onboarding specialist to follow up with new hires and ensure they are receiving proper department training.
- Develop and implement apprenticeship programs.
- Responsible for creating and implementing management development training program
- Update and maintain SOP’s for HR training department as needed.
- Track mandated certifications and schedule outside training as warranted to include, ServSafe, CPR/First Aid, CPO, etc.
- Track mandated Hotel GM, AGM, Sales training, verifying franchise mandates are met.
- Support HR team members, providing support, training, and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with the HR team to discover, create or coordinate continuing education opportunities and talent development of co-workers across the organization.
- Assist with yearly/quarterly engagement surveys.
- Assist with planning company events, including employee recognition events, such as employee appreciation week, housekeeping week, mangers outing, holiday parties, etc.
- Minimum 2-3 years training experience.
- 1 year hotel experience preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent skill with personal interactions, communicates effectively and builds trust and relationships.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Must be a critical thinker and able to problem solve.
- Willing to travel to property locations within the state of North Carolina.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records
- Must be a self starter and able to work independently
- Strong time management skills
- Sense of urgency, result driven.
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs.
