What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Coastal Community Health Services?
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for providing excellent customer service. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting doctors and nurses in all aspects of medical care, including maintaining patient medical records, performing basic laboratory work, filing insurance claims and interacting with patients. The successful candidate for this position will have excellent computer skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and an extremely high level of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing patients for examination and operation.
- Use first aid techniques and common medications to prevent, fight, or alleviate the symptoms of injuries and disease.
- Answer patient questions or refer them to another health care professional.
- Explain procedures to patients and their families.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist physicians with procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by a physician.
