About the Job :
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Coordinator, the Environmental Technician will support environmental monitoring and compliance efforts while working both in office settings and onsite in the field. This role involves regular exposure to diverse conditions such as loud noise, dust, and inclement weather.
Responsibilities :
- Conducts field environmental monitoring activities related to air, water, wildlife, soils, vegetation, meteorology, and archaeology
- Collect environmental samples and data for monitoring and for chemical and physical analyses
- Maintain and calibrate sampling and monitoring equipment to include routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Collects, enters, review and analyze environmental data into tracking systems
- Perform environmental inspections and identify areas that may be or are out of compliance with permits / regulations
- Assist with preparation of routine submittals to regulatory agencies to document system performance and compliance with permit requirements
- Maintains knowledge of sampling procedures and protocols in accordance with recognized industry standards
- Assists and conducts environmental based training to mine site employees as needed
- Performs administrative duties as directed by the immediate supervisor
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
