Sequoias Community College District is seeking candidates who are qualified and equity-minded to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position for Instructional Design and Professional Development in Academic Services beginning August 2025.

Job Duties
Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Services or designee, the Instructional Designer and Professional Development Coordinator will :
- Develop, coordinate, and refine new faculty mentoring program, onboarding, workshops, and support systems on a regular basis.
- Engage in data inquiry and self-assessment to develop strategies for student success, persistence, and equity.
- Create, promote, and lead professional development training opportunities related to instructional design, including but not limited to student-centered instruction, Universal Design for Learning, accessibility, pedagogy, technology, and equitable practices in all modalities of instruction.
- Apply current principles of instructional design, learning theories, WCAG, and ADA guidelines to support faculty in the creation of course shells and course materials that align with learning objectives and institutional goals.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to plan, design, document, develop, and test new and revised courses that integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Facilitate and support faculty adoption of OER / ZTC course materials emphasizing accessibility, copyright compliance, and other legal standards for course content and materials.
- Attend Educational Technology Committee, Distance Education Committee, Faculty Enrichment Committee, and Instructional Council in an advisory capacity.
- Collaborate with Faculty Enrichment Chairs and other representative stakeholders to support enrichment opportunities for professional development.
- Manage assigned budgets and ensure compliance with related regulations.
- Provide regular instructional consultation / office hours to promote effective course design.
- Attend relevant conferences, trainings, and seminars to maintain a current knowledge base.
- Research and pursue grant opportunities for instructional and professional development programs.
- Design and produce materials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, animation and multimedia hardware / software to support teaching and learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Assignment requires 35 hours per week on campus presence, 175 duty days per calendar year. Assignment will include coordination and possible evening hours on all of the Sequoias Community College District campuses. Participation in the governance of the Sequoias Community College District by way of additional committee assignments is encouraged.
Other responsibilities include maintenance of office hours, participation in department and / or division responsibilities, and the willingness to create and participate in and sustain an atmosphere of equity, which is respectful of diversity Districtwide.
