Description
The Youth and Family Clinical Supervisor is responsible for training and support of LPHA, LPHA-Associate/Intern, Youth and Family Care Coordinator and Master’s level practicum/intern students in the Youth and Family Behavioral Health program. Core task is to ensure that clinical services provided are in accordance with all reporting requirements and are based in a trauma informed and person driven care model. Supervisor serves as the expert of all services and can train, model, and oversee all service delivery of their team members. Duties include overseeing all intake functions, monitoring counseling and intern caseloads, assigning caseload to team members, and ensuring individuals being served are getting services per UM guideline recommendations. Supervisor must provide individual and group supervision regularly to ensure that staff fully understand their clinical expectations and are maintaining service provision and documentation standards. Supervision will consist of individual and group meetings with team members on areas in which they need additional clinical guidance. Supervisor will provide intake services as well as maintain a small counseling caseload.
Supervisor will also be responsible for approving paid time off and bi-weekly timesheet approval of team members and ensuring intake coverage when staff need to be out on leave. Will be responsible for completing performance evaluations and disciplinary action of team members. Supervisor works under the supervision of the Program Administrator of Youth and Family Services and ensures effective communication regarding provider operations, performance, and problems.
The supervisor will promote a trauma-informed, culturally, and linguistically appropriate work environment ensuring all services are provided in a trauma-informed, person and family centered manner within the Youth and Family Program. Supervisor will embody LifePath Mission, Vision and Values in all that they do.
Targets include: Ensuring same day access to walk in services and 24 hour response to all call in or email inquiries. All trainings completed by due date. Same day documentation for screening intakes/2 business days for service notes. Team passes audits at 90% success rate.
If Bilingual and receiving stipend, employee will be available to translate for other staff as needed and will utilize approved language in the provision of services as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Texas Licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) required with supervisor status.
- Has at least three years of clinical experience in the treatment of individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders preferred. If a shorter time, the individual’s experience, and aptitude to learn and perform role quickly will be taken into consideration.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships.
- Self-starter who works closely with all team members and takes initiative in completing tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure effective communication regarding behavioral health needs and services.
- Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to guide staff in connecting individuals with appropriate services.
- Knowledge of the current version of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Organized, detail-oriented, computer-proficient, and able to write clearly and professionally.
- Ability to respond to individuals with patience, empathy, and understanding.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Willingness and ability to provide positive and corrective feedback to staff.
- Ability to write and communicate clear performance appraisals and improvement plans as needed for staff.
- Ability to develop team members’ skills, encourage growth and a sense of positive affiliation among staff.
- Ability to lead meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $72,000 - $79,500
