General Description
This position work as a member of the Care Coordination Team who performs care coordination activities for individuals in services
to ensure their success in recovery. The Medical Assistant is a key player on the care coordination team providing activities to
ensure continuity of care.
Primary duties surround medication related activities to ensure that individuals can obtain their prescribed psychiatric medications
without disruption in treatment. Duties include scheduling appointments, coordinating eligibility and other treatment related activities;
receiving, storing, and distributing of medications; documentation of refill requests; accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of
distributed medications and medication education related activities. MA related activities will be provided onsite and in the
community.
This position is responsible for excellent customer services, ability to explain available services, accurately enter in demographic and
other pertinent information into the electronic health record (EHR) and other duties as assigned. This position requires accuracy,
attention to details, initiative, and a proactive approach to duties and responsibilities while working with individuals/families in service
and the multi-disciplinary treatment team. This position must demonstrate a positive attitude, work well within a team and
independently. This position reports directly to the Program Administrator for Care Coordination.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)
• Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders strongly preferred.
• 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistance in a clinic setting desired.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from one of the following required:
1. CMA –American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
2. RMA—American Medical Technologists (AMT)
3. CCMA—National Health Career Association (NHA)
4. NRCMA through National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of mental health medications.
• Knowledge of outpatient mental health systems and treatment approaches.
• Good computer knowledge and the ability to learn new software systems.
• Organization
• Working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs.
Salary : $16 - $19
