What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Driver position at Colt, Inc?
Colt, Inc. is a scrap tire processor and transporter licensed and permitted by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. We’ve been in the scrap tire business since 1994 and have grown to be the largest scrap processor in Louisiana with two operating locations. Our goal is to provide customers with top-notch service for all of their scrap tire needs.
We are seeking to hire a Class A CDL Driver for our New Orleans location. Our drivers are home every night and off weekends.
Driver Qualifications:
- Class A Driver’s License issued by the state of Louisiana
- Must have 24 months of verifiable experience driving heavy units
General Job Duties:
- Run your assigned route until complete
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip vehicle
- Drive truck in a safe manner
- Maintain log book
- Complete all required paperwork
- Meet all customer needs
- Manage the helpers on your truck
- Keep an eye on all helpers when they are out of the truck, at all times
- Report all maintenance issues to supervisor
- Report all accidents, injuries and unsafe acts to supervisor
- Document all accidents, injuries and unsafe acts
- Collect and ensure all monetary transactions are submitted to supervisor
- Assist with loading the truck
