Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain planers and other woodworking equipment to produce high-quality wood products.
- Set up machinery according to specifications and adjust settings as necessary for optimal performance.
- Monitor the production process, ensuring that materials are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Planerman or similar role in a woodworking or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of woodworking machinery, particularly planers, and their operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
