Qualifications:
Education: Minimum qualification to be recognized as a Technologist, as defined
in Part 58 of the New York State Department of Health code of Laboratory Rules
and Regulations; successful completion of 90 credit hours at an Accredited
College or University, 16 hours in Chemistry, credits to include 6 hours in
inorganic Chemistry. 16 Semester hours in biology
courses pertinent to medial Sciencies; three semester hours in Mathematics and
6 years Laboratory experience.
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from accredited college or University
and 6 years pertinent Laboratory experience.
Bachelor degree in one of the Chemical, Physical or Biological sciences and 6
years of pertinent Laboratory experience.
License/Certifications: Must have current New York State Education Department
Office of Professions Licensure Registration Certificate as a Medical
Technologists. ASCP Certification or equivalent preferred.
Experience: The position (s) of Laboratory Departmental Supervisor requires a
broad
based knowledge of Laboratory practices through formal training. Progressive
management experience preferred. Six years Laboratory experience desired.
Summary:The Blood Bank/Point of Care Supervisor requires a broad based
knowledge of Laboratory, especially Hematology, Coagulation and Quality
assurance through formal training in the Clinical Laboratory setting.Six years
clinical Laboratory experience, progressive management training.
Salary Range: $15.20 – $21.80
