SCL Program Director Job description
The Program Director is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals that receive services from Comfortable Living. In addition, the director will provide oversight of direct support professionals and house managers. They shall be responsible for carrying out the administrative and programmatic duties for the Residential Services they supervise, both in service delivery and facility management. This includes ensuring that service recipient’s needs are met, staffing ratio is correct, staff are properly trained, that all paperwork is completed accurately, and all facilities under their care meet regulatory requirements. The Program Director supervises the Direct Support Professionals, Family Home Providers, and House Managers, including responsibilities for establishing the staffing patterns and schedules.
The following skills are required:
1. Communicate effectively with a participant and the participant’s family;
2. Read, understand, and implement written and oral instructions;
3. Perform required documentation; and
4. Participate as a member of the participant’s person-centered team if requested by the participant.
The Program Director shall have:
- a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a human service field.
- at least two (2) years of experience in providing direct support to persons with a developmental disability.
-Demonstrates competence and knowledge on topics required to safely support the participant as described in the participant’s person-centered service plan.
- Completes a supervisory training curriculum approved by DBHDID within six (6) months of beginning supervisory responsibilities.
