Position Overview:
Comm-Fit is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. As the Staff Accountant, you will manage the company's financial records, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the CFO with accurate financial reporting. This in-house role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the financial health and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement with a target of performing the financial close in five business days
- Commissions
- Accruals
- Validation of G/L balances
- Journal entries
- Trend Analysis and the ability to gap financial statements for different periods
- Build month-end reports for commissions, margins, cash, A/R, A/P, inventory, detailed business segment income statements, and other various reporting tools to make financial decisions
- Manage the chart of accounts and initiate and document processes for consistency within the finance/operations teams
- Expense management and on a continuous basis looks for ways to cut costs while not sacrificing the brands core values
- Facilitate intercompany transactions through journal entries, A/P, and A/R across multiple entities
- Play an important role in the purchasing/inventory count function for the company
- Manage/troubleshoot, and reconcile day-to-day accounting issues related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
- New vendor setup and Trade Reference sheets
- Review/negotiate vendor contracts
- G/L coding for Non-A/R deposits
- Review customer credit applications and determine credit worthiness
- Provide support to Human Resources
- New employee onboarding
- Annual benefits rollout
- Review hourly employee timecards
- Analysis of employee PTO paid/not-paid accruals
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability
- Support financial decision-making with ad hoc analysis and reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a small to mid-sized company
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and MS Office, particularly Excel. Proficiency in ODOO preferred

- Knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
