What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHR Trainer (IS0743 - East Campus) position at Communicare Health Centers (Texas)?
Under the direction of the department manager, the EHR Trainer is responsible for preparing, implementing and maintaining training materials and programs based on knowledge of identified training needs, clinic operations, or changes in procedures or services. EHR Trainers possess and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and skill in areas of healthcare applications, technology and/or education as evidenced by experience in providing classroom, virtual and/or on-site training in health information systems. Depending on department assigned, clinic workflows and revenue cycle experience may be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with the delivery of training and provides ongoing support/shadowing for all new personnel. Conducts assessments and performance/chart audits for medical/dental job class.
2. Assists with ongoing EHR navigation, clinical skills and workflow training for existing staff. Supports clinical and administrative staff with EHR guidance.
3. Provides classroom, virtual, one-on-one, and roaming support for end users, including support staff and clinicians.
4. Serves as subject matter expert in clinical processes and EHR systems and workflows. The trainer may need to be a subject matter expert in revenue cycle process dependent on assigned department.
5. Assists with testing and troubleshooting new EHR applications or processes. Provides end-user training during EHR new application or process implementation.
6. Collaborates with billing and operations staff regarding revenue cycle continuous process improvement efforts, related both to value-based care and claims-based reimbursement dependent on assigned department.
7. Consistently demonstrates a service-oriented mindset by providing excellent internal/external customer service. Develops and maintains good inter-relationships and partnerships with all departments. Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct, and communications always represent the Center in a highly professional manner.

9. Uses written and oral presentation skills to effectively communicate to a diverse audience ranging from unskilled personnel to highly trained and experienced professionals with a wide range of computer skills at all levels.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years in a primary healthcare or specialty setting
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with EMR/EHR required
Depending on department assigned, the trainer may need to have an understanding of billing and eligibility requirements for Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance
Ability to work independently
Work collaboratively with colleagues of various education levels
Builds rapport and promotes teamwork by maintaining a professional and positive attitude in the learning environment
Ability to travel from site to site within various counties using personal vehicle
