Position Summary:
As an Area Relief Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will travel within our service area to provide essential support to individuals with IDD. Your flexibility and dedication will ensure consistent, high-quality care. This dynamic role is vital in promoting independence, skill-building, and a sense of community for the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and encourage their participation in community events and activities.
• Administer medications according to training and maintain accurate health and behavioral records.
• Foster a safe, clean, and respectful environment in the home or community settings.
• Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external providers to ensure high-quality, person-centered support.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent 
• Previous experience in caregiving, social work, or a related field is preferred but not required; training is provided.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to advocating for individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and eligibility to become a company driver.
• Ability to pass a background check 
• Capable of performing physical tasks required for the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule:

• This is a full-time position in a 24/7 setting with shifts that may include evenings and/or weekends. CAS strives to create schedules that meet both the needs of our staff and the individuals we support.
