Infection Preventionist (Registered Nurse)

Start Date : ASAP
Salary : RN $45 / hr
Status : full time, 40 hours per week
Schedule : Days, with Manager on Duty (MOD) weekend rotations

A little more about our center :

Community Care Center is a large inner-city Skilled Nursing Facility. We have patients of all ages with multiple levels of care, including long term care and a large behavioral health (psych) population.

We have a new Dialysis program coming in 2024

The average age of our patients is mid-40s

Along with our medical / skilled patients, the most common diagnoses of the rest of our population is schizophrenia, bi-polar and major depressive disorders.

The Staff and patients are welcoming and say hello as you walk through the hallways.

We are located near W 43 ST & State Street, just off 90 / 94 and a few blocks from the train station.

The National Association of Rehab Providers & Agencies ( NARA ) awarded Transitional Care Management their “Impact Award” for 2023 for our Life Skills Programming. Job Description

What you will do in this role :

You will work closely with our DON to develop & implement the infection control program (ICP) in accordance with current IDPH regulations for our setting.

You will ensure compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations to provide staff education and training as needed.

You will need to perform Infection (ICP) Surveillance; tracking & trending and developing action plans accordingly.

You will lead the weekly Infection Control QAPI meetings and routinely monitor antibiotics usage & physician prescribing practices.

Qualifications

Infection Control (Registered Nurse RN) : officially we title this job an Infection Preventionist, but in other centers it may be called a Safety & Infectious Disease RN, Infection Control (ICP) Coordinator or an Infection Prevention (ICP) Nurse.

What we need from you :

Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in IL

The a-IPC EPI (101 and 102 for LTC), or CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) is ideal. But we will also consider applicants with a current (or willing to obtain the) CDC infection Prevention Training Course.

Prior nursing care in a SNF or ICF setting preferred

Must have experience with PCC electronic documentation system
