SCOPE OF WORK: Oversees the operations of the RVCC Keene Academic Center and supervises employees, as assigned. First line supervisor of admissions and enrollment assistants and/or specialists. Includes admissions/enrollment, one-stop, and academic center supervisors. This position reports to the Vice-President of Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) at RVCC.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Under the direction of the VPASA, oversees the operations of the Keene Academic Center, ensuring the needs of the Keene Academic Center students, faculty, staff, and public are addressed and met appropriately through the coordination of and assistance to interdepartmental units.
- Serves as the on-site liaison to Keene State College, coordinating with KSC facilities, student services, scheduling, and other offices as necessary. Represents RVCC at meetings with KSC as directed by the VPASA.
- Serves as primary resource for prospective and current students regarding admissions procedures, course scheduling, registration, financial aid, course placement assessment, and certification/diploma/degree requirements.
- Acts as the first point of contact for student financial aid inquiries; handles all financial aid inquiries addressed to the college website and dedicated voicemail.
- Utilizes various software and databases including but not limited to Banner, MS Office, Target X, EAB Navigate, and other private software; to process recruitment and enrollment activities and information.
- Processes student admissions applications and assists with other enrollment functions as needed.
- Maintains knowledge/function of other administrative offices and college departments.
- Interacts with business and industry and community-based organizations to promote college offerings, create an awareness of RVCC to community groups; adult learners; and conduct informational sessions.
- Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two years' experience admissions, academic advising student services, or academic operations with responsibilities in program coordination, operations management, and/or staff supervision. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge and understanding of enrollment management practices and functions. Knowledge of English, spelling and arithmetic. Knowledge of the procedures and practices involved in interviewing. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts and identify existing or potential problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to make sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data or resources in organizing required information. Ability to meet with prospective students and explain programs sponsored by the college or department. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
