Community Memorial Health System is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Mother/Baby - FT - Nights Near Ventura, CA

Responsibilities

The RN provides specialized nursing care to the post-partum patient, including the newborn infant. Specific task elements are generally outlined below and may be found in competency check off lists. The Mother Baby RN is responsible for working as a team utilizing the multidisciplinary approach to provide nursing care adapted for each individual patient needs, based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The RN is also responsible for supervising, coordinating and delegating to personnel who participate in the provision of care, to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met. RN I requires no experience, and is considered a training position. RN II requires six (6) months of recent full- time acute care experience in hospital or the equivalent and/or has been deemed competent by the department manager. The RN III, RN IV, RN V performs similar patient care duties but accepts higher degrees of leadership and has further education.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current CA Registered Nurse License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification, or within six (6) months of hire for those nurses being trained in Mother/Baby Unit
  • Six (6) months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital or the equivalent and/or has been deemed competent by the department manager

Preferred:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience in a Mother/Baby Unit
  • RNC-MNN certification
  • CLC, CLE or IBCLC certification
