Community Resources For Justice is a unique, 140 year old nonprofit organization headquartered in Boston, that provides direct care as well as research/consulting services within the areas of the Mental Health and the Criminal Justice/Public Policy field. Our three divisions, Social Justice Services, Community Strategies, and the Crime and Justice Institute are recognized for their effectiveness and contributions to this important work.

Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant is responsible for completing all regulatory reporting, annual audit, completing monthly accounting tasks, and ensuring fiscal policies are documented and maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Function as an effective team member of the Fiscal staff.
• Respect the confidential nature of information accessed in the performance of this position
• Coordinate all activities of the external audit and prepare all audit schedules.
• Prepare annual UFR.
• Complete 990 workbook and work with external auditors to ensure that it is accurate.
• Complete the Federal Indirect Rate application.
• Complete and file all form 3ABC’s and any other real estate filings.
• Complete all fillings required for CRJ to do business in states and jurisdictions. This includes but is not limited to filing sales tax exemptions.
• Complete monthly close responsibilities.
• Act as advisor on technical accounting issues.
• Complete adhoc projects as requested.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 3-5 years experience in audit, compliance and accounting.
• CPA preferred
• Strong financial systems orientation
• Experienced not for profit financial professional
• Government contract experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Preferred familiarity with Serenic Navigator or other accounting software
• Strong excel skills
