POSITION SUMMARY

An apprentice technician would assist another technician in their daily responsibilities. The purpose is to learn the trade and to move out of apprenticeship to become a trained technician.

• Assist a designated technician in -

• • Interpreting the work scope and applying to the current job
  • Getting proper tooling for a specific job
  • Reading and understanding manuals
  • Using the correct tooling for each task

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

• HS diploma / GED equivalent; Technical high school diploma, machinist trade school, or equivalent work experience
• Power plant certificate is preferred
• At least General courses completed and currently taking Power plant courses

Experience:

• Entry level position
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Understanding how to use basic and calibrated tools (wrenches, ratchets, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language
• Critical thinking skills
• Social skills and working well as a team
• Organization and general cleanliness
