Office/Dispatch Assistant Part-Time

PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE FOR OFFICE ASSOCIATE/DISPATCHER
 
Pay: Starting at $18 per hour
 
 COME & JOIN OUR TEAM! We are a small, family-owned company that is currently seeking a part-time office associate to join us in the office. Not a remote work from home position. This is a year-round, part-time position where you will be working in the Grandview office assisting customers by phone and on the computer as well as some dispatch duties with other drivers who are on collection routes each day. 

This is NOT a typical office setting; the office is similar to that of a construction site setting. Compost Connection has been in business 32 years, and we pick up yard waste (grass, leaves, brush) from Kansas and Missouri residents. If you are sensitive to strong smells, fumes, dust, pollen, etc., this job may not be for you.

You must possess your own reliable transportation to work daily.

 ** Your resume needs to be current and up to date as of 2024.
 
We have been in business for over 32 years and currently run a fleet of 18-20 trucks depending on the time of year.
 
 Schedule

·         Typical work week would be part-time, 3 days a week from 8am to 4pm

with a possibility of becoming full time in the future Monday -Friday 8am to 4pm.

·         During the interview process, we can work out which 3 days works for your schedule.

·         Some Saturdays are required workdays for at least ½ the day when we are on a make-up day for the 6 holidays that we observe. The holidays we are closed are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving,  & Christmas. Make-up day is the Saturday after the holiday.

 

·         Research missed pickups for all haulers and customers.

·         Enter new customers and information into our Trashflow software.

·         Receive and process customer payments.

·         Match fuel/disposal tickets from drivers daily

·         Answer phone calls, return voicemails and answer emails from office Gmail email.
 ·         Dispatch misses to drivers on office cell phone

·         Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail

·         Ability to learn our Trashflow software, GPS software, mapping tools and general knowledge of  

          directions, streets, cities, etc.   

·         Work with the office manager and senior-level management to provide the best customer   

          experience.

 ·        Following directions and other duties or projects assigned by Management.

Experience:
 
·         Customer service: 2-3 years (Preferred)

·         Dispatch experience is a plus.
·         Proficient with Word, Excel and Gmail
·         Excellent customer service/phone skills
