Overview
The Operating Supervisor will be responsible for directing and supervising field forces for the physical installation, removal, repair and replacement of underground and overhead electric mains and services in compliance with operating procedures, environmental laws and PSC guidelines. Ensure the safe, timely and efficient installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electric mains, services in accordance with operating procedures, engineering plans and requirements of regulatory agencies, including all safety standards set by OSHA, the US DOT, and the Company.

- Provide coverage for system emergencies and ICS events on a round-the-clock basis.
- Track the repair and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
- Monitor and review quality and productivity, while actively identifying cost saving initiatives.
- Utilize computer systems to schedule work, close out jobs, and conduct audits; while actively embracing new technologies to streamline processes.
- Promote a positive work environment, celebrate success, and ensure accountability for individual actions and those of direct reports; including feedback to assist individuals as they progress in their titles.
- Supervise personnel and provide support ensuring availability of resources.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies and ensures the quality of work performed is consistent and within specification.
- Maintaining personnel schedules and training requirements.
- Ensures that all time entry and submitted documentation is accurate and signed accordingly.
- Ensures that Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools are incorporated into all daily work activities.
- Ensures that the installation, removal, repair, testing, and replacement of secondary conductors and devices on the Electric Distribution System are performed in compliance with operating procedures and engineering specifications.
- Conduct On-The-Job training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented safety inspections, and ensure that all personnel attend training as required.
- Supervise weekly personnel around the system, and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the procedures which govern this work.
- Advises crews of expectations of performances. Evaluates the quality of completed work and identifies deficiencies and their cause. Correct deficiencies to improve organization performance
- Ensures the implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
- Monitors compliance with Company policies and procedures e.g., equal employment Opportunity (EEO), Substance Abuse, Discipline, Security, Productivity and Environmental Instructions, Code of Conduct, etc.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as determine necessary and required by Manager.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 Years related experience required
- Associate's Degree Engineering/Technology/Business Management and 4 Years Related work experience
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering/Technology/Business Management and 2 Years Related Work experience
- Must have the ability to understand and interpret field constructed drawings and layouts. Required and

- Must work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, or equipment
- Must enter underground vaults through manholes
- Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
- Must be approved and able to wear a full- or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other condition that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Must use hand tools and operate heavy equipment,i.e. jackhammers
- Must travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
