Position Summary
Concepts NREC, a global leader in turbomachinery design and manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Hands-On Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Assembly:
Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical systems, subassemblies, and prototypes according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
Perform precision fitting, alignment, and adjustments to ensure system functionality.
Testing and Inspection:
Conduct functional tests to verify the performance and quality of assembled products. Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during the assembly process. Perform adjustments, rework, and repairs as per our QMS work instructions and authorization levels.
Documentation:
Accurately complete assembly logs, test reports, and quality checklists. Update work orders and inventory records as required.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. Perform routine maintenance to ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure a clean and organized work area to maintain a safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement
Provide feedback to manufacturing engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes and product designs. Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical school certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
2 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly, preferably in aerospace, energy, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Strong mechanical aptitude and precision handling of components.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Basic Qualifications
