Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise applications and batch jobs. This role demands expertise in IBM ACE and MQ Engineering and Administration, alongside strong incident management and problem-resolution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor application health, batch jobs, and system observability to ensure uptime and performance.
- Manage incidents, triage issues, and execute configuration-based break-fix recoveries.
- Oversee ticket management processes, including service requests and actionable alerts triggered by monitoring tools.
- Configure and execute application health checks, log analysis, and vulnerability remediation.
- Perform problem management by conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for implementing permanent fixes.
- Manage batch job scheduling, execution, and event/alert management.
- Handle certificate creation, deployment, and validation post-patching.
- Provide support for disaster recovery (DR) activities and release deployments.
- Develop and maintain knowledge management systems, including run-books and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform user profile management, partner onboarding, and validation for application changes.
- Automate recurring tasks, eliminate redundant tickets, and improve processes through preventive remediation.
- Generate metrics, reports, and status updates for stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- IBM ACE and MQ: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in engineering and administration.
- Strong expertise in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and configuration management.
- Proficiency in actionable alert configuration, log analysis, and application observability.
- Experience with batch job scheduling tools and preventive monitoring strategies.
- Familiarity with ticket management systems and IT service management (ITSM) tools.
- Solid understanding of vulnerability remediation, certificate management, and disaster recovery processes.
- Automation scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar) for task automation.
- Strong understanding of APM tools and monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Splunk).
- Experience in patch management and post-deployment validation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of automation tools for streamlining ticket and task management.
- Familiarity with partner onboarding processes and transmission application validation.
