Welding Supervisor

Contender Boats is seeking a Welding Supervisor for the Homestead, FL location. The Welding Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of welders specializing in aluminum welding, ensuring high-quality work, adherence to safety protocols, and meeting production deadlines by managing the welding process, inspecting welds, training new employees, and maintaining equipment, all while strictly following industry standards and company policies related to aluminum welding.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of aluminum welders, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Train new welders on proper aluminum welding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
• Evaluate welder competency and identify areas for improvement.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Job Duties:

· Oversees welding operations.

· Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.

· Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.

· Ensures that products are identified and warehoused correctly.

· Troubleshoots issues that arise.

· Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems.

· Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an aluminum welder with expertise in various welding processes.
• Strong understanding of welding codes and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Leadership qualities to effectively manage a team.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

• Possess in-depth knowledge of various aluminum welding techniques (TIG, MIG) and their applications.
• Stay updated on new welding technologies and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend solutions.

· Prior exceptional work experience with boat manufacturing preferred.
