Your Role:
Perform work under limited supervision. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work with significant authority on assignments of higher technical complexity and variety. Possess expert skills with internal and external statistical plans and sources of data, and the use of spreadsheet applications. To continue career progression in Actuarial, maintaining eligibility in the Actuarial Student Program and continued work toward attainment of Fellowship is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in large-scale department projects
- On an ongoing basis identifies opportunities to automate processes and expand modeling capabilities, and works with the team to implement these enhancements
- Implements assumption and methodology changes to actuarial models, ensuring compliance with all model risk management standards, especially documentation and testing requirements
- Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes actuarial information to produce statements, schedules, filings, and reports of a more complex nature
- Develops and maintains calculation of policy values, profit studies, and reserve studies
- Provides actuarial analyses, responses, and communications to product areas
- Maintains awareness of emerging issues affecting product lines
- May act as a project lead on actuarial studies and strategies
- Maintains documentation of actuarial analysis
- Provides technical advice to lower level positions and other functional areas
- May lead the work of others (mentors, prioritizes, delegates and reviews assignments)
- Produces accurate and timely valuations every month
- Produces accurate and timely projection model runs as needed and completes all necessary audit and control activities related to these responsibilities
- Prepares actuarial portion of financial reports in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and Tax Principles
- Provides actuarial information related to financial statements, tax returns, and / or risk position
- Analyzes and reviews reserves and non-forfeiture values of new and existing products
- Assists in the annual update of assumptions, implementing and / or auditing the implementation of assumptions into actuarial models
- Develops a deep knowledge of Statutory and tax reporting requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant Actuarial experience; LTC experience preferred
- Requires background in modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications
- Near-Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), with minimum of 5 exams passed and is working towards credential.
Salary : $75,000 - $145,000
