Position: Porter for McDonogh Township Apartments – Owings Mills, MD
Role Overview
As a Porter, you perform amenity and unit cleaning, curb appeal and hallway maintenance of the grounds and exterior common spaces of a beautiful apartment community. The team here consists of 1 Service Manager and 1 Porter.

Most Important Responsibilities
- Do whatever it takes — picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, removing cobwebs, wiping down windows — to keep our common areas in tip-top shape
- Pressure wash common areas, and sidewalks
- Maintain upkeep of outdoor amenities – daily cleaning of the fitness center, staging pool and patio furniture, removing debris from the pool
- Empty any trash cans, inside offices, clubhouse, and community amenities.
- Ensuring trash and recycling areas are maintained and tidy.
- Remove any trash from hallways to include missed valet trash pickup
- Pick up pet waste, empty pet stations and replace bags and maintain supply of pet waste bags
- Perform exterior minor repairs as necessary –replacing light bulbs and perform Lighting Inspections
- Trash out vacant apartments
- Assist with snow removal during the winter months.
- Assist with firewood delivery during the Fall/Winter months
- Perform tasks professionally, without endangering yourself, residents, or fellow associates
- Understand that disarray, clutter, and chaos are the enemies of curb appeal – and not the first impression we want to make on our residents or visitors
Most Important Qualifications
- Previous experience maintaining the grounds of an apartment community with high standards or janitorial related work is strongly preferred.
- Ability to assist with very basic maintenance tasks a plus!
