Job Summary
The Environmental intern will work under the direction and training of an Environmental Specialist to develop solutions for project assignments associated with Continental’s energy assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to working on a summer project, the Environmental intern will also have the opportunity to:
Learn the functions within the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Department and perform entry level Environmental work
Partner with office and field employees to enhance environmental education
Conduct field activities such as inspections, sampling and information gathering
Assist HSE staff with program development, permitting and reporting, and other office tasks
Review compliance history of permitted operations and enter data and information to support required routine reporting
Conduct research of regulatory requirements as well as past and current permitting requirements and help develop strategy for future permitting needs
Personal commitment to inclusion and diversity
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Effective time management
Required Qualifications
Current enrollment in an accredited four (4) year College or University;
Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science from an accredited College or University;
Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Physical Requirements
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
