What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineering Intern - Immediate need position at CONTINUUS Pharmaceuticals?
CONTINUUS Pharmaceuticals has an immediate need for a Process Engineering Intern to assist us for three months. If you are a science or engineering student or fresh graduates, this position is for 3 months and will include one or more projects. You will work with our scientists and engineers to support process development efforts for continuous manufacturing of small molecule pharmaceuticals as pat of a team of engineers and scientists. You'll perform hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, develop and maintain technical documentation, and are part of a multidisciplinary team solving unmet medical needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Contributing to process development efforts for continuous manufacturing of small molecules.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments involving filtration, drying and/or other unit operations.
- Responsible for daily equipment functionality/maintenance for the continuous unit operations.
- Plan and perform hands-on, independent, and collaborative laboratory experiments and associated laboratory analyses
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including plans, reports, and notebook entries
- Conduct investigational studies on optimization of novel continuous processes for manufacturing of small molecule drugs
Other responsibilities:
- Occasionally asked to perform other duties to assist the team.
Educational requirements:
- Candidate for BS or MS in chemical engineering or a related scientific field. GPA of 3.5 or above preferred.
Experience and skill requirements:
- Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities
- Able to work while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) – specifically Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs).
- Team player in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Experience in research and development
- Knowledge or experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Process equipment: pumps, temperature, pressure, and flow sensors, etc.
- Assembling experimental setups and conducting experiments
- Scientific writing and notebook management
