Job Overview:
The Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, operating machinery to produce precision parts. They are responsible for ensuring the safe operation of machines and meeting production specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Machinist I-III will be responsible for the following:
- Operate CNC lathes and mills to machine parts according to specifications
- Conduct ongoing dimensional inspections and document results
- Monitor machine operation, ensuring proper functionality
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols
- Manufacture parts to the required quantity and document processes in the ERP system
- Inspect parts using precision tools like micrometers and calipers
- Set up and operate machines independently for precision part production
- Read and interpret part routing, drawings, and specifications
- Identify and change worn inserts as necessary
- Adjust machine offsets and complete change-over activities
- Produce first article parts, inspect them, and ensure documentation completion
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma / GED
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools
- Physical ability to lift at least 70 pounds and perform labor
- Adaptability to evolving work requirements in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Certification to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and crane
- Ability to read and understand instructions, quality control, and safety guidelines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
