Working under the Executive Chef, the Kitchen Manager oversees meal preparation, staff scheduling, and menu planning, ensuring alignment with the CooperRiis diet principles. The role also involves supervising kitchen staff and collaborating with various departments to support dietary needs and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a Mediterranean-inspired menu focusing on fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients.
- Collaborate with Integrative Wellness Specialists to meet residents’ dietary needs.
- Hire, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory and ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
- Support the kitchen team in meal preparation and ensuring food is served on time.
- Ensure compliance with Serve-Safe certification, health codes, and safety standards.
- Assist with special events and provide a welcoming dining experience for the CooperRiis community.
- Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience (3-5 years in a commercial kitchen).
- Preferred 2 years of supervisory experience in the requirements
- Commitment to CooperRiis' nutritional philosophy and wellness principles.
- Starting salary: $43,000 per year, with potential for increase based on experience and qualifications.
- A full-time role with weekday and weekend shifts is required.
- Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Work involves exposure to physical risks and following OSHA guidelines.
