This position is responsible for phlebotomy services and also plays a critical role in the overall laboratory operation by performing the following duties.

This position works onsite fulltime within the Jacksonville Florida California Cryobank reproductive tissue laboratory. Phlebotomy and laboratory duties are the main focus of this position.

Experience:
- One to two years phlebotomy and laboratory related experience with BS degree Or, four years phlebotomy and laboratory related experience with high school diploma

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Performs phlebotomy
- Tracks blood draw and urine specimen testing intervals and ensuring specimens are collected and submitted in a timely manner.
- Prepares blood and urine specimens for transport to reference laboratories, prints finalized results as well as keep track of overdue results. Maintains phlebotomy supplies.
- Performs donor desk duties. Donor desk duties include checking in donors by ensuring donors are properly identified, verifying specimen cups are accurately labeled.
- Coordinates and executes specific laboratory duties to optimize laboratory operations. These duties may include but are not limited to scanning and filing donor worksheets and manifests, aliquoting media, staining morphology slides, post-thaw analysis, quality control checks, routine cleaning of laboratory equipment, laboratory supply maintenance.
- Executes specific biorepository duties which may include but are not limited to handling vials and canes stored in cryogenic temperatures, thawing vials for QC analysis, preparing vials for transport in cryogenic tempertures.
- Complies with all regulatory, quality assurance, quality control, standard operating, and safety procedures.
- Participates in proficiency and competency assessments.
- Participates in the review of standard operating procedures.
- Maintains demonstrated proficiency with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Other duties and projects as required.
