Attorney
Purpose of the Job
To represent Coptic Orphans in legal proceedings. Support & assist legal department in conducting legal research, and drafting legal documents.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Represent Coptic Orphans interest in litigation and legal proceedings.
- Complete high level Legal research on US law and International Law.
- Edit and draft internal legal policies and procedures.
- Draft and review contracts and vendor agreements.
- Stay current with changes in law regulations, and legal procedures.
- Use project management software and manage a docket of legal projects.
- Work alongside other departments to provide them with legal support for their questions and concerns.
- Manage and maintain state registration compliance in all necessary jurisdictions
- Manage and maintain all insurance policies and compliance. This includes shopping and comparing insurance policies.
- Draft and present complex legal memos.
- Perform other tasks as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills
- Juris Doctorate from accredited USA educational institution or equivalent international education Mandatory.
- Licensed member in good standing with any state BAR Association.
- A minimum of one year experience as practicing attorney is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in general nonprofit laws, including registrations, and contract drafting.
- Some experience working in corporate law, government, or contracts necessary.
- Ability to understand Arabic is required and is highly preferred to read and write Arabic.
