The Trail Acquisition Manager oversees designated trail projects, manages the Delco Green Ways Grant Program (DCGW), and supports related trail/acquisition initiatives. Responsibilities include developing project plans, securing grants, and coordinating with County departments, contractors, and grantors. The role also manages grant administration and record-keeping with support from the Office Manager.Essential Duties:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, utilize a keyboard, sit, bend at the waist, and talk or hear. Work Environment:
- Manage designated trail projects, including development of conceptual plans, grant writing, and preparing requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Coordinate with the County Solicitor, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, landowners, grantors, and contractors to advance trail projects.
- Plan a quarterly work program in collaboration with the Infrastructure Manager and Director.
- Oversee the DCGW grants, including contract amendments, policy interpretation, and interactions with legal and municipal officials.
- Manage the DCGW application and review process, compiling recommendations for County Council.
- Utilize the Office Manager for record maintenance, routine contact with grantees, and billing administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in City or Regional Planning, Public Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Eight years of job-related progressive experience in community planning and management.
