What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Maintenance Worker - Housekeeping Attendant Ocean Center position at County of Volusia?
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and attendees. Key duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas, as well as restocking supplies and reporting maintenance issues. Attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. This position may require evening scheduling.
- Follow assigned post orders to clean assigned areas including stocking cart and supplies.
- Remove and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.
- Cleaning of floors, glass, mirrors, stainless steel, chrome surfaces, painted surfaces, plastic surfaces, porcelain, Formica, woodwork, etc. using correct cleaning techniques and supplies.
- Maintain clean restrooms, public areas, inner offices, exhibit halls, meeting rooms, ballrooms, theater, pre-function areas, and event spaces.
- Polishing and cleaning exit stairwells, loading docks and service areas, (interior and exterior.)
- Polishing and cleaning passengers and freight elevators, stairways, and escalators.
- Make routine building tours to ensure a clean environment in the facility.
- Use daily event reports and details to set and refresh rooms to client specifications.
- Use correct radio etiquette to respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Correct or report safety hazards.
- May serve as lead worker for temporary employees.
- Operates various types of equipment including but not limited to I-MOP Floor Machine, Kaivac cleaning machine, vacuum (push and riding), window cleaning systems, pressure washer, and scrubbers.
- May be assigned to other county locations based upon operational needs.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED & (1) one year of experience of a maintenance or housekeeping worker.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of appointment and maintain thereafter.

Environmental Demands: Inside and outside work. Ability to tolerate inclement weather including but not limited to heat, humidity, wind and cold. May require exposure to chemicals, dust, insects, noise, fumes, and confined spaces.
