What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dentist - On Call position at Cowlitz Family Health Center?

Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center seeking an On-Call Dentist to join our team and provide essential dental care to those who need it most. As an integral part of our community-focused clinic, you'll have the opportunity to serve patients in in a fast paced, patient focused environment, ensuring their oral health is prioritized.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- DDS or DMD with 1-year experience providing general dental care
- DEA license/registration to prescribe drugs, medications, pharmaceuticals and controlled substances
- Valid driver’s license
- No discipline by any professional or peer review organization, governmental agency, licensing body or hospital staff for any action or omission based on or related to quality of care.
DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of dental clinical standards and practices.
- Comfort with the pace of primary dental care.
- Ability to provide service to patients of all ages
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with clients and other members of the care team.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively under stress, simultaneous responsibilities, and demands from diverse sources.
- Able to multi-task and exercise effective time and tasks management.
- Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently. Strong communication, organization, documentation and record keeping skills necessary.
- Knowledge of evidence-based dentistry.
- Solid background in patient education and lifestyle risk reduction.
- Strong communication skills.
