Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Pipeline Data & Risk Analyst Position
As a Pipeline Data & Risk Analyst you will collect and conduct analyses on processed in-line inspections and other data stored in the Cognitive Integrity Management (CIM) database. These analyses will involve integration and interfacing with other data sources, databases, and systems. These data systems are both on-premises and cloud-based in a variety of database formats (Oracle, SQL Server, SQL Lite, etc.).In this role will design, implement, monitor, maintain, and provide ongoing support for both existing and new processes related to the extraction, integration, and analysis of CIM data. This Pipeline Data & Risk Analyst is also responsible for executing the company’s pipeline risk assessment model and calculating R3 risk metrics for SIPM projects on an as needed basis.
What You Get to Do:
- Streamline the process to generate and maintain standard reports and data requests from the processed ILI replicated database.
- Work with Integrity staff to develop new tools for analyses to identify emerging and developing threats to the pipeline.
- Load historic tool runs into the CIM alignment tool.
- Extract ILI data from CIM replicated database to load into enterprise GIS database.
- Execute the company’s Pipeline Risk Assessment model as needed for Integrity Management Program support, regulatory requirements, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain software required to execute risk assessment model and RRR analyses as well as risk input data.
- Work with Integrity and Asset Data to ensure that field findings are loaded into CIM and incorporated into subsequent reports.
- Ensure that data processes are properly documented and diagramed in the appropriate engineering standards, policies, procedures, and manuals.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelors’ degree in a related field of study for an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
- Ideally, 2 years of experience analyzing, processing, or managing pipeline and/or risk data.
- Substantial SQL Server and/or Oracle database experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of relational database systems.
- Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
- Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
