Position Summary
To support and assist with all aspects of preparing for board meetings and communicating with the CPS Energy Board of Trustees. This position will be responsible for acting as a board liaison by facilitating effective communication with the Board of Trustees. This position is also responsible for planning and preparing for board meetings, managing Board of Trustee records, and performing other related tasks.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Facilitates communication between the Board of Trustees (BOT), with an emphasis on the Board Chair, and the CPS Energy Leadership Team in communication of updates on strategic issues and significant operational events; plans, edits, and drafts BOT materials.
- Collaborates with the CPS Energy’s business units as it relates to the internal preparation necessary for board meetings and related BOT activities; liaises with business unit to ensure strategic and operational initiatives are effectively communicated and incorporated in board materials.
- Oversees the planning, logistics, budget, and execution for BOT related events; coordinates with internal stakeholders and affiliated industry and community organizations as it relates to such BOT events.
- Coordinates with BOT and CPS Energy business units to coordinate and manage awards, speaking engagements and publication opportunities.
- Maintains internal governance manuals and supports the development of BOT training and educational opportunities.
- Coordinates BOT travel and other logistical needs upon request.
- Coordinates logistics surrounding monthly BOT meetings and BOT committee meetings.
- Prepares and delivers BOT meeting materials in a timely manner, including posting materials to the CPS Energy website.
- Coordinates with the Board Secretary and Legal Services to prepare BOT related documents, and facilitates legal compliance initiatives for the BOT with regulatory, federal, and state law.
- Maintains document storage retention in line with company policies.
- Facilitates process improvements and group-problem solving; effectively communicate issues and recommend strategies and tactics..
- Maintains strict confidentiality of confidential information.
- Performs other tasks and duties assigned.
Minimum Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Mid-level experience in board governance, ideally related to the energy industry
- Experience either serving on or managing governing boards in a municipal, not for profit or private setting
- Awareness of the San Antonio community
