Job Definition:
Describe overall functions:
Responsible for the sample process related to receipt, dispatch, assembly and management of samples for showrooms, e-commerce and sales people
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with Product team to establish procedures and requirements regarding samples for show season
Receive, check-in, label and distribute samples on-time for all showrooms, trade shows and Portland photography
Notifies Product Manager and/or Product Associate Lead when a showroom sample received is not as pictured to resolve production issues
Maintain Sample Cage inventory to ensure that it is neat, well organized and accurate
Assemble and assist with measuring Memphis and e-commerce new item samples
Partners with Product Manager and Product Associate Lead to measure, organize and maintain current season samples in the New Item Room, collecting data for catalog accuracy
Check SST Google doc weekly and key orders for showroom samples that are missing/broken or need to be replaced. When orders are received, determine if they should ship directly or be palletized with existing out-going showroom shipments. Alert Product Manager when SST order items are out of stock.
Works with product team to gather item attribute information and update in the system
Travel as needed to assist with pre-show tagging
Assists QC Specialist with opening cartons and staging new items for inspection as needed
Participates in new item inspection as support to Quality Control Specialist and offers product knowledge based on samples
Partners with QC Specialist to order and ship item replacement parts to showrooms
Makes merchandise judgement calls based on situational analysis
Serves as a backup to the QC Specialist as needed
Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
Education:
High school diploma or similar
Experience:
Prior work experience with receiving and distribution a plus
Prior work experience in the gift/home décor/design industry preferred
Skills / Ability:
Strong ability to think independently and resolve problems
Ability to make judgements that balance analytics with product knowledge
Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with team members
Ability to plan, prioritize, and handle multiple projects effectively and calmly
Moderate level of experience and proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Products
Sense of urgency and accuracy, with strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to stand/walk for a minimum of 7hrs/day including climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, bending and stooping
Ability to lift up to 35lbs on a consistent basis
Ability to travel as needed
