Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, tailored to the individual's needs and abilities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support through active listening, empathy, and meaningful engagement to foster social and emotional well-being.
- Promote a safe environment by identifying hazards, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring the security of the individuals under your care.
- Work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and address concerns or changes in care plans.
- Monitor and report changes in patient health status.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in hospice, home health, or other related fields
- 100 hrs of experience working with kids with disability, preferably Autism (experience can include shadowing, volunteering, or supporting family members).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules.
- At least one year of experience working as a care support specialist.
