Storage Manager

Must be a self-starter to provide exceptional customer service and to rent storage units. The right person will be computer literate for an office environment and has the energy to keep the self storage facilities clean and maintained to be ready to rent.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prior experience taking care of customer with a positive attitude no matter what.
• Enjoy providing excellent customer service and renting storage spaces.
• Answer and respond to telephone calls and emails about rentals and tenant issues.
• Shows, rents and cleans self-storage units as well as actively selling and maintaining supplies of moving and packing materials
• Sell tenant protection plans
• Maintain the office and the property by keeping it neat, clean, and secure, and keeping units rent-ready.
• Cleans bathroom and outside areas daily.
• Accept payments, maintain an accurate petty cash log.
• Prepare and make daily bank deposits.
• Contact past due customers and arrange for catch-up payments.
• Assist in keeping the facility rented at optimum levels by effectively utilizing advertising, promotional and customer relation skills as approved by management
• Provides outstanding customer service including assessing and resolving customer problems and professionally handling telephone and walk-in inquiries
• Perform light maintenance on the property.
• Prepare units for auction and vacates units as prescribed by law and approved by management.
• Self-starter who can work effectively with limited direction
• Team player who thrives on working with others
• Detail orientated with an eye on cleanliness and organization

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
• Superior customer service skills and sales ability
• Excellent phone demeanor
• Computer literate with solid office skills
• Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages
• Successful in a team environment
• Take-charge mentality, yet able to follow set procedures
• Saturdays availability.

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperature and weather
• Ability to work closely with a diverse customer population

• Walking extended distances - up to 500 yards
• Navigating multiple surfaces: indoors and outdoors; carpet, tile, linoleum, cement, pavement, uneven dirt surfaces in weather that may be hot, icy, or snowy
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds
• Fine motor functions, use of keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
