Service Manager - Plumbing

Foster Plumbing, a Crete United Company is a leading commercial plumbing contractor based in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Small Projects/Service Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 3-6 service plumbers, managing small-scale plumbing projects, ensuring quality and efficiency, and providing leadership to the plumbing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial plumbing, team management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of service plumbers, ensuring effective scheduling, performance management, and overall productivity.
• Project Oversight: Oversee small plumbing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding service and small projects, addressing customer needs and ensuring satisfaction with the completed work.
• Field Support: Provide technical support to service plumbers, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on complex plumbing systems and installations.
• Estimating:  Ability to produce and evaluate estimates with information from job walks, blueprints, and photographs with accuracy regarding labor, materials, and equipment.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work performed meets local code requirements, company standards, and client specifications. Conduct inspections of ongoing and completed work.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Manage the daily scheduling of service calls and small projects, ensuring proper resources are allocated and deadlines are met.
• Budget & Cost Management: Help control project costs and material usage, keeping expenses within budget, and ensuring profitability on small projects.
• Training & Development: Mentor and provide training opportunities for service plumbers to enhance their skills and improve performance.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all team members are adhering to safety protocols, company policies, and legal regulations related to plumbing and construction work.
• Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of service calls, project timelines, inventory, and invoices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the general management team and other departments to ensure smooth project execution and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.  Colorado Journeyworker or Master Plumbing license preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems. Strong understanding of local plumbing codes and safety standards.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of plumbers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Project Management: Experience in managing small-scale projects, with a strong focus on client satisfaction, budget management, and project delivery timelines.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management.
• Technology Skills:  Must be proficient with computers, tablets, blueprints, and Microsoft Suite.  BlueBeam or similar program knowledge is a plus.
• Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and handle difficult situations.
• Certifications: Valid plumbing license in Colorado; additional certifications (e.g., backflow certification) a plus.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
