We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanics Lien Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, serving, and recording mechanics liens and releases across multiple states, researching property and ownership details, and ensuring accurate communication and documentation throughout the lien process. This role requires strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of state lien statutes, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve/record mechanics liens in multiple states in accordance with state lien statutes.
- Prepare and serve/record releases once payments have been made by clients.
- Research property and ownership information, including pulling deed copies.
- Maintain open communication with clients to ensure timely and accurate lien processing.
- Regularly update lien sheets with correct statutes, deadlines, and county information.
- Utilize various internet research tools to identify key players involved in construction projects.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all legal documents, including typing and proofreading.
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondences related to liens and legal notices.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with mechanics liens and preparing legal notices is required.
- Familiarity with recording documents with city or county officials.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to research and interpret state lien statutes and property ownership details.
- Strong typing, proofreading, and document management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients.
- Ability to thrive in a production environment and work well within a team.
- Proficiency with internet research tools and databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a legal or construction notice-related field is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with lien management software or legal document recording systems.
- Paralegal Certification is desired but not required
