Position Description
CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECHNICIAN
2 Years of CST experience
Openings in Deltona, Daytona Beach and Port Orange
The Certified Surgical Tech will function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, will accept responsibility for observing aseptic technique while preparing and assisting with surgical procedures. The Tech will display a thorough understanding of equipment, supplies, and procedures that are being performed, will make adequate provisions for meeting the needs of the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient and additionally anticipate the physician needs and meet them with the assistance of the Circulating Nurse.
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Graduated from an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- 2 YR
- Good manual dexterity required.
Pay Range: Variable dependent on years of total experience
*Relocation available on a case by case basis*
Level 2 Trauma
Need Trauma experience in the main OR
CST required
Required certification: Cert through NBSTSA ideal – not a must (but willing to obtain)
Shift / hours: Day shift, Monday thru Friday. Start and end time varies depending on cases. Usual in time can be 0645 but it can be as early as 0630. Out time depends on the time cases end. Average day, the RN may be out by 3:30. On late days, it could be 5/6pm
Weekend requirement: No weekend/night requirements
Call requirement: There is no call, however, I schedule a CST/RN to be the “late” staff. The “late schedule” is rotational. The late staff finishes the day after 3:30.
Types of cases: General Surgery, GYN, GI, Retinal, Podiatry, Urology, orthopedic, Plastic, dental restoration
Required experience: 2 years of general operating room experience
Salary : $25 - $35
