Crossbar is seeking a hands-on, scrappy QA Engineer to ensure our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. As a small, fast-moving team, we are looking for a candidate who thrives in dynamic environments, wears many hats, and brings an entrepreneurial spirit to our agile team. This position requires a strong focus on manual QA, browser testing, and some automated testing.
Candidates must be local to the St. Louis, MO area, as this role does require some in-office time with our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing on various browsers and devices to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
- Conduct mobile testing, particularly with React Native applications, with a focus on delivering quick, high-quality results.
- Create and execute automated test scripts while balancing the need for manual testing to ensure a smooth, rapid development process.
- Identify, document, and track bugs, collaborating closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct lightweight performance and security testing to ensure robustness without reliance on enterprise-level tools.
- Work directly with developers to understand requirements and provide real-time feedback on usability and functionality.
- Share insights with peers and participate in collaborative test case reviews in a fast-paced, team oriented setting.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with manual QA and browser testing, with a focus on getting things done quickly and efficiently.
- Experience with mobile app testing, particularly in React Native environments.
- Comfort with automation tools like Selenium and Cypress, but equally willing to roll up your sleeves for manual testing when required.
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or Linear.
- Interest in CI/CD pipelines and a desire to continuously improve testing efficiency and automation where it makes sense.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing methodologies that can be applied in a pragmatic, resource-conscious way.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a startup or small team environment.
