Company Summary: Crossroads is an Arizona Department of Health Services licensed substance abuse treatment provider with proven expertise in serving men, women, and Veterans with Substance Use Disorder through the provision of high quality, successful, and affordable residential and outpatient recovery programs.

 

Due to federal contracts the following items are prohibited:  Medical/Recreational marijuana, current parole, or probation.  

 

Job Summary: The Grant Writer will research, write, format, and submit compelling, high-quality grant proposals to funding agencies (federal, state, and private foundations) while applying knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach goals. This role is responsible for proactively researching and analyzing grant opportunities and making recommendations on their feasibility. Position will collaborate with leaders and team members to develop relationships with key stakeholders and develop supporting documents and maintain donor database and records.

·         None

 

Essential Functions:

·         Researches, identifies, and matches grant opportunities to meet specific organizational objectives.

·         Investigates local, state, federal, private, foundation, and corporate sources of funds, including reviewing materials, listservs,

         meetings, telephone contacts and correspondence.

·         Interpret and follows grant application guidelines and requirements.

·         Cultivates a network of dedicated donors and volunteers and form strong relationships with external stakeholders.

·         Collaborates with various departments to gather necessary information for grant proposals.

·         Manages the reporting process for all awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

·         Maintains an organized databased for all grant submissions, including dates, outcomes, and feedback.

·         Familiarity with healthcare fundraising strategies.

·         Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals.

 

Qualifications:

·         Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.

·         Current and annual negative TB Test.

·         Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.

·         Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·         Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to develop compelling narratives the effectively communicates the

         organizations mission and goals.

·         Ability to monitor progress and track results.

·         Strong organizational skills, ability to set and communicate priorities and meet deadline.

·         Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to multitask and manage several grant submissions or reports at once.

 

Education & Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing or other related area, master’s degree preferred.

·         Minimum of two years’ experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

 

Work Environment:

·         Fast paced behavioral health setting.

·         Primarily indoors, however, some outdoor work may be requested.

 

Physical Demands:

·         While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak or hear. The employee is occasionally required

         to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must

         occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and seldom lift and/or move >100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by

         this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Shift Requirements: 

·         Days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Travel:

·         Valid AZ Driver’s License. 

·         May include travel between sites and other locations.

·         Local and statewide travel when requested or required.
