A fleet mechanic at Crystal Flash is a valued team member who will assist with fleet vehicles, ensuring proper safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance requirements necessary to support the distribution process of diesel fuels and propane. SCHEDULE: Full-time, 7:00 am start, Monday through Friday, with rotational weekend on-call work.
PAY: $23.00-25.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform light-duty truck maintenance and repair on fleet vehicles for assigned area/region, complying with all government regulatory and company requirements to ensure a safe work environment, and to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Inspect equipment and provide proper maintenance and repair, ensuring reliability for optimal use in accordance to operational safety practices.
- Ensure a safe working environment and proper equipment usage.
- Complete needed repairs and maintenance to ensure maximum operational efficiency and safety of customer locations and company operated vehicles, coordinating with appropriate vendors.
- Coordinate truck maintenance to ensure compliance with regulations and to minimize down time.
- Maintain appropriate systems.
- Drive company trucks as needed to deliver fuels and related products or render services to customers.
- Recommend opportunities for preventative maintenance or other initiatives to reduce repair expenditures and minimize down time.
- Provide support with other duties as assigned.

- High school or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older with a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A
- Hazmat, tanker and air-brakes endorsement
- License in brake mechanics
- Minimum of 3 years related truck maintenance
- At least 1 year truck driving experience
- No BACs, DUIs, DWIs or license suspensions for moving violations in the past 5 years
- No major preventable accidents within the past year
- No reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years in a personal or commercial vehicle
- Able to pass a DOT physical and drug test
- Knowledge of driving safety rules and regulations required.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred.
- Good communication, organization and mechanical skills required.
- Detail oriented, able to learn computer systems and/or hand held electronic communication systems
Travel around region required to facilitate needed repairs and equipment placement
