Infection Preventionist (IPN) Job Summary
The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and evaluating infection prevention and control programs in order to reduce the risk of infection in our healthcare facility. The successful candidate will research, develop, and implement policies and procedures in order to reduce the risk of infection and promote safety in the healthcare environment. The Infection Preventionist will provide education and training to healthcare personnel and work with other departments to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
Infection Preventionist (IPN) Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and implement policies and procedures to reduce the risk of infection
· Monitor and evaluate infection control trends and develop strategies to improve practices and procedures
· Conduct regular surveillance of infection control practices, identify and investigate potential sources of infection
· Collaborate with healthcare personnel to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards
· Educate healthcare personnel on infection prevention and control principles
· Develop and implement audit protocols to evaluate infection prevention and control programs
· Participate in research projects related to infection prevention and control
Infection Preventionist (IPN) Requirements and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, or related field
· Certified in Infection Control (CIC)
· Minimum of 1 years of experience in infection prevention and control
· Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and database management
· Knowledge of MatrixCare
