Cudd Pumping Services is hiring for experienced field and shop based diesel mechanics to work in and around the following location: - Odessa, TX The primary role of the equipment mechanic (oilfield) is to maintain and repair a variety of equipment including diesel engines, heavy trucks, pumping equipment, lifting equipment, and other oilfield-related equipment, under general supervision. The equipment mechanic will also perform preventive and corrective maintenance, failure analysis, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, assembling and rebuilding of all components or equipment (i.e.: engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, electrical codes, etc.) either in a shop or on location, with or without supervision. Responsibilities: Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of equipment including; diesel/gasoline engines, transmissions, winches, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, sand conveyor systems, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mobile/overhead cranes, gear boxes, PTO’s, generators, chemical metering systems, 12/24 volt electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, rims, tires and wheels, forklifts, electro-mechanical equipment, wellhead attachments and pressure equipment and various other types of oilfield related equipment. Execute required procedures for preventative maintenance. Perform inspections required by company and government entities. Perform basic troubleshooting with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Repair and refurbish hydraulic power equipment. Read and follow repair manual. Read and interpret basic measuring equipment. Perform repairs as listed in manuals. Operate and maintain power equipment. Order parts as necessary for equipment with prior approval. Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts. Basic testing of equipment for proper operation. Operation of lifting devices. Complete proper paperwork as assigned. May be required to assist other maintenance employees. Other duties as assigned. Skills: Basic computer skills. Good operational knowledge of oilfield equipment. Ability to read various types of drawings/schematics. Education: 2 years of technical training or equivalent work experience. Certifications: Relevant certifications are a plus but not required. Environment: The equipment mechanic will work in the repair shop or on location. Must be able to lift heavy equipment. May be required to work on a 24-hour, on-call basis.
