What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift - Re Inspection Servicer position at Culp, Inc.?
Position Summary: The Re-Inspection Servicer is responsible for following the direction of the Re-Inspector, servicing the inspection frame by manually loading rolls by hand onto frame, and keeping necessary supplies at the frame in an efficient and safe manner.
Position responsibilities:
- Secures empty tubes from storage area and keeps supplies at inspection frame.
- Manually handles all rolls for re-inspecting by loading rolls onto table for re-inspector, un-bagging, taping, re-ticketing, removing from inspection frame, and re-bagging.
- Manually double bag rolls as requested by customers.
- Manually bag large rolls that will not fit through bagger.
- Retrieves priority material that is on skids using fork truck or hand truck for re-inspector.
- Pulls inspector skids to audit behind as requested by re-inspector.
- Uses computer to generate tickets or gather information regarding a pattern.
- Removes empty skids from work area, and removes filled boxes used for fabric or plastic disposal from work area.
- Measures engineered panels using measuring table and hoist system and ensures that panel measurements are passing in accordance with customer specifications.
- Re-Inspects fabric to identify any un-flagged defects if they are present.
- Re-bag and re-ticket rolls that have damaged bags or have changed quality.
- Retrieves empty skids and retrieves empty boxes for fabric and plastic disposal.
- Retrieves supplies needed for the Re-Inspector such as bags, tape, zip ties, blank tickets.
- Batches short rolls using sewing machine.
- Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
- Forklift inspection daily.
- Carry all sample rolls to Sample Department.
- Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises supervision of any unsafe conditions.
- Any other duties as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous textile and/or warehouse experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Employee should show proficiency in the operation and proper use of re-inspection frame, hoist, broom, doff table, hand truck, lift hoist, tow motor, lift jack, skid, bags, hook, metal ties, CRT, fabric, computer system, tape measure, measuring table, and paper tubes.
